FAQ

Why can't I order an AIR RIDE seat on a ROPS unit?
Though the heated air ride seats are robust in their design, enclosed cabs provide maximum protection from the weather elements to all the components in the system.
If I order the machine with an enclosed cab and heater and the customer now wants to add A/C. Is there just an A/C kit offered?
The kits are inclusive of both heater and air conditioner. Alternatively, you may order the components separately through parts for just the A/C.
How do I get an aspirator kit? Can I get this factory installed?
Aspirator kits may be ordered as Dealer Installed Accessories and are easy to install. There are four different kits. Order the right kit for your model.
Will I be able to use the same attachments (Auger, Snow blower, Dozer Blade, etc)?
The answer for most attachments is yes. There are some exceptions for example, water tanks, sweepers, rear stabilizers and backhoes which mount to just more than the front coupler are impacted the greatest. These attachments may need mounting gear changed. See the attachment price book manual from service parts for more information. The majority of hydraulically operated attachments may require a change in connecting hose lengths but functionally, they will work on the new models.
Why are the batteries rated at 1000 CCA versus 1100 on previous CASE units?
First, testing indicates that difference between 1000 and 1100 cold cranking amps (CCA) for starting the units in cold weather is negligible. Second, the 1000 CCA battery is more readily available within and outside the service parts system.
Where do I get power for the beacon?
The beacon plug-in is located on the rear of the cab below the rear window and to the right of the cab ventilation air intake.
Can I install 400mm (15.6") belts on the TR270?
The undercarriage design is conducive to these 350 mm (12.7") belts. The perimeter is different and 400 mm (15.7") belts will interfere with the chassis.
Will I be able to use the same CASE buckets?
All buckets are interchangeable, except Case Series 3 heavy lift buckets. These buckets will not fit without increasing the width of the coupler pin holes to accept the width of the SL57 coupler pins. They also have a 6.5 degree difference in the mount plate back angle which will increase roll back and decrease dump angles by that amount.
Can I order a cab/heat without the door?
Side Windows, doors, heaters and heater/air conditioner kits may be ordered as DIA kits separately to customize the cab enclosure at dealerships. All cab enclosures from the plant will contain front glass doors.
Are the enclosed cabs pressurized?
CASE target has always been to achieve pressurization as per the ISO standard of pressurized cab for earthmoving equipment. Our initial testing on bay build units has been successful. However, until we achieve consistency with a large enough sample size, we cannot make such claim. In the coming weeks, we will be proving our assembly procedures which include pressure testing multiple units. Should we be successful, we will promote it to the best of our abilities. What we do feel comfortable saying is that the cab is better sealed. This is accomplished by sealing the corners, both top and bottom. Note that the hinges to tilt the cab are on the outside; not the inside which allows us to better seal those corners. We've taken the rear lights and HVAC systems off the cab and placed them behind the operator and the engine compartment. We've stiffened up the side windows and minimized some moving parts. There is a noticeable difference in how we sealed the cab.
I need to run an attachment that requires a case drain line (zero pressure return line). Are there provisions for one on this unit?
Case drain lines are standard on every model, wheel or track, low flow or high flow. This is a change from current product.
Are catalytic mufflers offered for all or any of these new SSLs-CTLs?
Catalytic converters are sold through third party vendors. Among them is the MINE-X® division of DCL International. As engine emission standards get more stringent, the value of catalytic converters diminishes.
What have we done about starting in cold temperatures?
It is important to note that when you look at the top ten selling states or territories when it comes to skid steers and compact track loaders, six of them have low average ambient temperatures and are more sensitive to cold starting so it was imperative that we tackled this problem head on. Here are the steps we've taken:
  1. We've changed the hydraulic oil to a lower viscosity formula commonly used in the industry. Remember that as soon as that engine starts cranking, you're pushing hydraulic fluid, so the lower the viscosity, the easier it is to start. This is an anti-wear (AW) hydraulic fluid hydro-system (HV) oil. It has a blue tint to it. We call it "smurf oil" at the factory.
  2. We've insured that every unit has at least 1000 cold cranking amps with a common battery. That's every unit, including small and medium frame models which formerly had 650 cold cranking amps.
  3. All models, including the FPT engine powered units, have glow plugs that allow for better distribution of hot air at the firing cylinders. That means we've removed the grid heater and installed glow plugs on these engines for better cold starting. One word of caution: To minimize confusion of the inclusion of block heaters in different models, we've made all the block heaters optional. For those of you in the cold states and territories, we recommend you add them to your orders. Adding them in the field is cumbersome.
What is the increased rated operating capacity with the counterweights?
  • There is an increase of approximately 100 lbs of rated operating capacity for the SR130 and SR150, SR175, SV185, SR200.
  • There is an increase of approximately 200 lbs of rated operating capacity for the SR220, SR 250, SV250, and SV300.
  • There is an increase of approximately 200 lbs of rated operating capacity for the TR270.
  • There is an increase of approximately 400 lbs of rated operating capacity for the TR320 and TV380.
Can I stack up more counterweights with longer mounting bolts?
Though technically feasible, it is not recommended or condoned. The prescribed counterweights already provide maximum lift capacity plus additional counterweights make the unit wider which increases risk to maneuverability perception.
Why can't I get the counterweights installed from the factory?
In order to streamline the assembly process, it was necessary to remove some features, like counterweights, from the factory installed offering. In doing so, we are able to reduce availability lag times.
Do I need to get new auxiliary hydraulic quick couplers for my attachments for the new skid steers / compact track loaders that have the connect-under-pressure manifold block?
There is no need to change couplers on the attachment. However, should you require a replacement quick disconnect for your manifold block, you should use the ones prescribed in the ISL “B” listing. The previous CASE Series 3 fittings plumbed on the base machine will not work.
How do you relieve hydraulic pressure from the quick couplers?
These new units' connect under pressure manifolds release pressure as the auxiliary lines are disconnected. This eliminates any possibility of hydraulic locks with oil remaining in the lines. Only 1 step, simply press the fitting collar in as the hydraulic lines are disconnected. They won’t ever need a set of wrenches to crack lines again.
How do I convert a ROPS unit to a cab enclosed unit with heater or heater and A/C?
Heater and Heater / AC kits are available as Dealer Installed Accessories (DIA) Kits. To enclose the cab, order a front door kit (glass or demo), side windows kit, and interior trim separately.
The CASE 450 did not have front cylinders for the bucket. How can I protect the bucket cylinders on the SR250?
Optional covers that protect the cylinder barrels are under development. When available, they can be ordered as a Dealer Installed Accessory (DIA) kit.
Why is the CASE loader arms move to cantilever pin design on the bucket cylinder versus the previous clevis design?
The advantage of a cantilever system over a clevis system include better visibility to the bucket edges (with less obstructions), less loader slop on the front end, and better breakout force due to the more horizontal angle with the cantilever design.
Can I still get a demo door on my enclosed cab?
The demo door may be ordered as a Dealer Installed Accessory (DIA) kit only.
Will Dealer Installed Accessory (DIA) kits be available at time when machines will be released?
The more popular kits such as cab enclosures, hand and foot control conversions, self leveling, ride control, aspirators, radios plus a few others will be available at launch or soon thereafter. Others will trickle in over the first six months after we start shipping product.
Is there a heavy duty rear door?
A rear door insert available as a Dealer Installed Accessory that can be installed on the existing rear door to increase stiffness and robustness is under development. When available, this insert can be installed on models SR175 and higher for CASE. It can also be installed on all compact track loaders.
What emission standards are these new units?
These units are Tier IV Interim:    SR130, SR150, SR175, SV185, SR200, TR270 All other models are Tier III
Why did we discontinue the 4.5 liter NEF engine?
As we migrate to higher emission standards, it was necessary to re-evaluate the engine selection for space constraints, fuel consumption rates, and engine recovery performance. The 3.2 liter engine offers advantages in these metrics. The 3.2 liter engine maintains the higher horsepower with adequate torque, better fuel consumption rates, and better engine recovery under load.
Why did we go to smaller engines (2.2L) on the CASE medium frame units?
Engine horsepower is an important specification for our customers. However, it's important to underscore the usable horsepower when matched with drive train components. By equipping these models with a lower displacement engine and better sizing the drive train components we are able to closely match performances of the medium size 400 series units and still deliver lower fuel consumption rates, better engine recovery, and great power to the wheels at a better competitive price. The reliability of the 2.2L engine has improved significantly and we have expanded its use. When compared to the ratings of Caterpillar and Bobcat units, these new horsepower ratings are in line with the competition.
Is a Charcoal filter available for the Cab Air Filter?
A charcoal filter for the cab air intake is available through service parts. The part number is 84376815.
Can I get a foot controlled CASE unit from the factory?
Foot controls are only available as a Dealer Installed Accessory (DIA) kit. This one kit may only be used to convert any H pattern (hand control) unit to foot controls. Note: You can NOT convert a unit equipped with EH controls.
How do I convert a CASE unit to foot controls?
Foot controls are available as a Dealer Installed Accessory (DIA) kit. It takes approximately 4 hours to install. This one kit may only be used to convert any H pattern (hand control) unit to foot controls. The kit comes with installation instructions.
Can Bio-diesel fuel be used on interim Tier IV engines?
Yes, all the new models regardless of the engine are B20 certified which means they can use up to 20% bio-diesel fuel.
What are the fuel consumption specs on the interim Tier IV engines?
For the most part, these are the same engines we've been using on current products. The fuel consumption rates at 100% load (full throttle) for the Tier IV interim engines are as follows:
  • 2 liter, 46 hp, naturally aspirated engine = 2.8 gallons per hour (S130)
  • 2 liter, 52 hp, turbo engine = 3.2 gallons per hour (S150)
  • 2.2 liter, 60 hp, turbo engine = 3.72 gallons per hour (SR175, SV185)
  • 3.2 liter, 69 hp, turbo engine = 4.26 gallons per minute (SR200, TR270)
Keep in mind that most operators are do not run continuously at 100% load. What's important is with little exceptions, these units will run at least one 8 hour day without refueling when operating at the 50% to 60% load. Are the grab handles on the loader arms (booms) certified to use as tie downs?
Structurally, the "L" shape grab irons on the loader arm knuckles (boom knuckles) can handle the stresses so they can be used as tie downs. However, state and regional enforcement laws apply and may insist that only the lower tie downs may be used. Check with your governing agency.
Can I still add a grid heater for better cold start performance?
It is unsafe to add a grid heater to any new generation units. The new units are already equipped with glow plugs to heat the air in each cylinder equally.
I no longer see a control handle selection? How do I know which handles come with which configuration?
The grip selection is automatic based on the configuration of the unit. Selecting grips, other than selecting control patterns and features, is not necessary.
Can I get an H-Pattern compact track loader?
Compact track loaders come standard with switchable EH hand controls (and 2 speed transmission) which include an H-Pattern and ISO pattern.
Can I install the old instrument cluster on the new units? They look the same.
Instrument panels from the CASE Series 3 are not compatible with the new generation skid steers or compact track loaders. The good news is any instrument panel software upgrades can now be accomplished in the unit using the Electronic Service Tool (EST) - you no longer have to replace the complete panel.
How can I get key less start on a ROPS unit?
The keyless start panel is a plug and play device. It can be ordered from service parts. Remove the current panel and install the deluxe panel. So that the anti-theft lock-out feature works properly, remove the key switch.
Are we using the same loader control valve?
The new generation of CASE skid steers and compact track loaders use a Walvoil valve. This is the same valve supplier used on mechanical and EH-controlled units.
Do I need to order different loader stops when I order different size tires?
10", 12", and 14" tires each have their own set of loader stops. Units are shipped with the corresponding loader stops. When the right stop is used, the bucket will lay completely flat on level ground. Therefore, it is recommended that if migrating to different tire size, the corresponding loader stops be used as well. See your parts catalog for correct loader stops.
If I want to install different tire sizes in the field, where do I get different loader stops?
Loaders stops are serviceable items. They're also on the Initial Stocking "B" category List.
How long does it take for the engine oil to drain? Can I speed that up?
When using the remote drain on the side, it may take 20 to 25 minutes. It is recommended that when performing interval services, begin the drain process while doing other activities to maximize efficiency. Alternatively, a drain plug underneath may be removed for faster draining. That process is usually 10 to 14 minutes.
Can I use the same CASE purchased pallet forks?
While you can hook-up the same pallet forks to the newly designed skid steers and compact track loaders, the new pallet fork assembly allow greater door opening for units with enclosed cabs. Previous pallet fork assemblies limit the door opening on newer models. You may use them with ROPS only units.
What is the parts commonality between the new models and the 400 Series 3?
There is very little commanility. There is an 80% change by part number. However there is some consistency in major hydraulic and engine components. See your parts catalog for more information.
Is this the same CASE radio as in the 400 Series 3?
The radio remains the same. The speakers are different. The new speakers are hidden behind the headliner.
What happens when one of the pop rivets breaks off in the side screens? Can I work on it without decertifying the ROPS structure?
The side screen is a serviceable item. Refer to your service manual for more instructions.
Is the ROPS certified for level 1 or level 2?
The ROPS is certified for Level 1. A Level 2 kit is available through Whole Goods as a DIA item.
Where is the hidden stamped serial number located on these new units?
When looking at the front of the chassis, underneath the threshold, the more public serial number plate is exposed. For security purposes, disclosing the hidden stamped serial number remains discretionary.
Which CASE units have SERVO assist pump / levers?
The SR200 and bigger models have servo assist on the ground drive pump controls - except if the EH option is selected. CASE CTLs are all EH Switchable controls.
Why are there no more sound suppression kits?
This generation of skid steers and compact track loaders are engineered so that the sound levels at the operator ear without sound suppression kits are compatible to previous units with sound suppression kits.
What are the new sound levels on the enclosed CABs?
It varies slightly for each model and configuration. Generally, at the operator ear the sound ranges from 87 dBA to 88 dBA for ROPS units and about 84 dBA for enclosed cab units. When equipped with high flow, those levels go up by 2 to 3 dBA.
Can I get a single speed SR250, SV250 or SV300? If so, what's the new price?
Yes, however these are not standard units so the time from order to receipt will be longer (normally about six months longer). To calculate the new price, subtract the inclusion price of the two speed feature from the price listed on the first entry of the price pages.
Are the cabs pre-wired for radio / speakers?
There is no pre-wiring in this case. DIA kits include speaker wires and speakers.
Can I install rear stabilizers on the new vertical machines?
Yes, refer to the attachment installation guide on the attachment price book from service parts.
Are the units prewired for Telematics?
Yes. Sensors are already installed and there is a connection plug in the main wiring harness.
Can I install / order 14x17.5 tires on the SR220, SR250, SV250, and SV300?
Yes, these are available from the factory. When changing tires in the field, there are two things to consider. First, make sure the right loader stops are ordered to insure the bucket rests flat on the ground when in the rest position. Second, over-the-wheel tracks cannot be installed with the bigger tires because of clearance issues.
Can I get the big CTLS between the fenders in my trailer?
The overall width of the large CTLs is just under 78 inches. Most trailers have at least that much space between the fenders. There are some exceptions. Measure the distance between the fenders to insure fit.
Is the bolt pattern on the wheels the same as the 400 Series 3?
Yes, the bolt pattern remains the same.
Are the wheels stamped center?
Wheels for CASE heavy duty tires are stamped center as well. CASE Premium, Severe, Mining, Non-Pneumatic, and Flotation tires come with solid centered wheels.
Has the overall width on large compact track loaders decreased?
Recent research indicates that many owner / operators use skid steer trailers to haul compact track loaders. Often these trailers have a width of less than 83 inches between the fenders. To better meet this requirement, the large frame compact track loaders have been redesigned so that the overall width, with the wider belts, is about 78 inches.
